Second Level

The second level of the inn is almost entirely underground, within the wall of the cliff itself. The floor is about 2 and a half times thicker than the floors of the other levels, to allow for the water depth and weight. This is the floor that contains all the waterworks.  A small portion of the water thundering through the falls behind the inn has been diverted to run into the second level of the building and provide water amenities to the guests.

1.  Stairs from main level.
2.  Stairs to third level. The guest rooms begin on this level.
3.  Communal bathhouse.  One does not need to be staying at the inn to make use of this facility, it is open to the public, free of charge, on the basis that those who come to make use of it will most likely end up buying food or drink during their visit. Hot water enters the pool from the upper right, directly from the boiling cistern. It then flows gradually, cooling as it goes, toward the lower left.  Bathers can choose their preferred water temperature, depending upon where in the pool they stand.
Towel and clothing racks are available, as well as benches for rest.
4.  Cistern.  This is where the water is heated upon entering the building.  From here, it goes directly into the large, communal bath.  This room has also been known to double as a sauna.
5 & 6.   Restrooms. Women's and men's, respectively.  The water draining from the cool end of the bath pool makes its way through these facilities, providing water for both rooms.
7.  In this room, a fair deal of the waste in the water is filtered out before it is returned to the normal flow of the falls.
8.  Personal storage room.  This is where the owner/manager of the Gilded Mist keeps a fair deal of his/her personal effects, as well as things he/she may wish to keep from prying eyes.  Its existence is not commonly known.
9.  Private work room.  The owner/manager's private work room, used for such things as private meetings and hidden projects.  Its existence is not commonly known, even to most of the staff. The door between this room and the store room is hidden.
10.  Kitchen Store Room. Non-perishables, extra wine kegs, towels, and other such items are kept here. It is accessable both from this level and from a trap door in the kitchen above.
11.  Secret passageway.  This might be used in the event that someone needed to escape quickly and unseen. It opens onto a narrow trail winding up the cliff face outside. It is mostly unknown.
