Terrans
"Why would I want to play a human?" you may ask. The humans who came to De'Ru were the cream of the crop, the best of the best, sometimes even genetically engineered. The Earth authorities did their best to ensure that humanity would persevere in even the most difficult of situations, and so applicants for the re-settling program were tested and retested, rigorously narrowed down to a very select few who were able to pass the tests and prove themselves. As a result, those who made it to De'Ru were the smartest, the strongest, the most talented...The most likely to survive.

Description: It's fairly safe to assume that the description for humans is pretty well-known by this point. Genetic engineering and careful selection of settlers has had some impact on the general diversity of the humans upon De'Ru, however. Genetic mutation and hereditary disorders have been extinguished, no longer existing within the human genepool. On the whole, Terrans range from five and a half feet to nearly 7 feet, with women being shorter and slighter of build in general than men. All ethnicities are present, all hair and eye colors. Skills and Abilities: Terrans possess advantages over other races, the most prominent being their knowledge, their technology; crafts and experience brought with them from Earth. They are clever and open-minded, quick to learn, extremely adaptable. Though not as fleet-footed or agile as the elves, they are much hardier, quite a bit stronger. Anything the other races can do, a human can do, though perhaps not with equal skill. "Jack of All Trades" is a appropriate term for the Terran on De'Ru, and truly, they can be found in all trades. Ecology: Humans are the epitome of "adaptability." They can build their homes anywhere, eke a living out of almost any environment. With the experience of having wasted away their homeworld, Terrans are much more conscious of how their living effects the environment on De'Ru. Society: The majority of the
Terrans have migrated from their initial landing site to Deronar, settling in
that city to start their new lives. A handful of them stayed behind,
angered and prejudiced against the myriad of races upon De'Ru. This small
faction wants nothing to do with the peace and trade that exists in Deronar.
They believe themselves to have been cheated, that De'Ru was theirs, and that
the other races have no rights to it. Religion: Terrans, on the whole, are unfamiliar with the De'Ru gods. Most of those who emigrated to De'Ru still practice Earth religions, or none at all. The De'Ru gods find this rather curious. Special Notes:
Terrans can, and do, use magic, finding it fascinating and exciting. Human
mages are rare at this point, but are becoming more common as they become more
familiar with magic. **It is possible for humans to exist on De'Ru who are NOT Terran, that is, not from Earth. Humans do exist on other planets, and it is possible that they migrated here along with the fantasy races. |
